The Division of Air Pollution Control maintains the purity of air resources in the State of Tennessee. They serve 91 counties within the state and oversee and assist in the actions of Davidson, Hamilton, Knox, and Shelby counties, which have their own local air pollution control programs. 

The state of Tennessee also runs the vehicle emissions testing program which covers all of Hamilton County.
